Lately we have been seeing some very ingenious designs and patents appearing. One new product design is one that Semsons in the US are selling.

Now, basically it's a GPS charger cable for well known GPS mice and also Garmin Handheld GPS Receivers. However, if you take a closer look, the accessory plug that plugs into the accessory socket in-car has a built-in Bluetooth module hidden inside it and our good friends over at Semsons' have sent us one to review.

This was just theory until recently.  I've always wanted to connect multiple PDA's to one GPS Receiver, and see how they interoperate with each other, or to even have two or three PDA's in-car but just one Receiver.

Until recently this wasn't possible, but now it is!  Enjoy reading this article, it's completely amazing!!!

If you have a Handheld GPS Receiver, trying to connect it to a PC or PDA can be very daunting.  What cables do you need ?  Are you sure you have the right connector's and pin-outs ?

Take the fuss out of it by reading this article.  This introduces PC-Mobile's cables to the scene and helps you easily connect a Handheld GPS to your favourite PC, Palm or Pocket PC.

Ever since the TomTom Go was released there have been calls from the Users for screen protection and anti-glare coatings. Well Covertec have heard your requests and have produced an Anti-Reflection screen protector specially tailored for the TomTom GO. Priced at £10.38 it is available directly from the Covertec website.

We have reviewed some Covertec products in the past, Covertec are well known for producing high quality cases. They are moving into a different market with screen protectors so how do these measure up?

Something many of us have been discussing and debating for a while now is how to convert a GPS Mouse setup which is primarily for in-car use to a portable solution as the majority of people like to go for this setup for street routing but sometimes want to take it out walking or hiking.

Peter Bailey has come up with several suggestions in his Aeroplane Review and has now gone a step further with some smaller portable battery packs.

One of the things that makes PDAs and mobile phones difficult to use is the data entry mechanisms. With a PDA you generally get an on-screen keyboard that is touch sensitive, not too bad, but with a Mobile phone you have a keypad with 9 keys to input your entire text.

Maybe this is showing my age, but I don't have "idle thumbs" and cannot make my fingers fly round a keyboard. This is where the iTech Virtual Keyboard comes in providing a fully featured keyboard for a number of portable devices.

In the past year we have seen not only Bluetooth take off in a very big way, but in the past 6 months a flurry of new Bluetooth USB Dongles being brought to market. These Bluetooth USB Adapters are a little plug (or dongle) that plugs into your USB port and with added drivers and software allow you to run Bluetooth on a Windows based PC and connect wirelessly to a Bluetooth GPS.

This review concentrates on the MSI Bluetooth dongle (BToers) which is a tried and tested Bluetooth adapter and works well with all Bluetooth GPS Receivers we have tested it with on Laptop, Notebook and Tablet PC's that have a spare USB port.

The PC-Mobile Battery Extender is a great way of charging your Pocket PC when you don't have mains power close to hand.  This is great if you suddenly lose power or run low when you're out in the field and there's no other way of charging it.

The Battery Extender uses 4xAA batteries and not only will charge but power the Pocket PC whilst it charges.  The power plug supplied will fit most conventionally Pocket PC's as they all tend to share the same power sockets and voltages.

The low volume of the speakers on many of the latest PDA's is frequently cited as an issue when using them for in-car navigation. As each new model is released to an eager audience it seems that the addition of new features such as Bluetooth and WiFi are added at the expense of a smaller PDA speaker and lower output volumes.

A Danish company named Qubit have recognised this and come up with an innovative and practical solution to the problem. Using their background in cell phone audio mute systems design they have produced a black box sound amplifier for PDA users.

Back in March 2003 (seems like eons ago!) I reviewed the Road Angel which for those who don't know is a GATSO sucbscription based GPS Database which has a Holux GPS Antenna fitted under the casing and it can tell where you are and if there's a GATSO or Speed Camera situated on the same road you are travelling it will then be able to alert you, likewise it can alert you of accident blackspots.

I always put my money where my mouth is, and after the review had to return the Road Angel and subsequently purchased one and it has been running nicely for well over a year on my dashboard.

The Seidio Data Power Package G2 is a new data power package in a little nifty handy travel back with several pockets.  I have seen many charger kits available for sale over the years, some include a desk charger and a car charger, some have a converter plug, but nothing like this!

This is THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE date power package available.  Enclosed in this small travel bag is an emergency power charger which allows you to connect a 9v square PP3 battery and charge your Pocket PC from this battery.

The Stinger Stylus is a very practical stylus.  The stylus wraps around your finger and has various holes positioned like a belt.

You then clip these onto the studs to fasten it to your finger giving you a fine point that can be used as a stylus on any PDA screens be it Pocket PC or Palm.

The Stinger Stylus or Finger Stylus comes in a pack of 3, and are availabe in various colour ranges.

Styrite offer a whole range of PDA accessories including stylus, a protective film to place over your PDA screen to avoid scratching of the screen, cable chargers, cases and much more, but two products immediately impressed me not only from a heavy Pocket PC user, but also for use with GPS user were the ones included in this review.
