CoPilot comes in a number of different bundles, whether you want a Compact Flash GPS Receiver, a Serial GPS Receiver, a USB GPS Receiver or even a Bluetooth GPS Receiver. This review is based upon the USB GPS Receiver.

The CoPilot USB GPS is based around the Rikaline GPS-6010, it differs in the fact that it doesn't have a PS/2 style connector, it comes supplied in a USB connector for connecting to a USB enabled Laptop, Notebook or Tablet PC and is rebranded CoPilot.

The Fortuna U2's base of the receiver is magnetic, to stop the mouse escaping when taking sharp corners.

The receiver also comes with SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS) for additional positional accuracy and a variety of cable connections are available.

The Garmin iQue 3600 is a good combined navigation product. However I was disappointed as I have been really spoiled with the Street Pilot III Deluxe and I was half expecting a Street Pilot III Deluxe in a smaller form factor in PDA style, and with the mapping errors and the power save screen turning off (only on battery mode - not with the automotive kit), really was not what I received. Garmin have with all intense purposes made this an affordable version of their well known top of the range Street Pilot III Deluxe, and I think with a little work in bug fixes (several that have just been posted to Garmin's website), will make this a great product.

This review is of Holux's latest GPS Receiver, it's going back to the roots to a cabled GPS Mouse, with a subtle difference. It still contains the tried and tested SiRF IIe/LP chipset but it's one of the smallest cabled GPS Mice on the market!

Small is probably not the right word to use, more like tiny at 4.2cm by 3.4cm and 1.4cm deep! It's smaller than most external patch antenna's which are usually pretty small!

TFAC stands for the Taiwan Falcon Aerospace Corporation and they are a relatively new name to be seen in Europe and North America.  TFAC have been going for quite some time, designing GPS boards mainly for GLONASS (the Russian Global Positioning System), but they recently ventured into GPS Retail by creating several new GPS Receivers for the NavStar constellation, the one we are reviewing here is the TFAC MG 30.  This is a mouse type GPS Receiver, with a PS/2 connection plug/socket and terminates in an accessory plug to be powered in-car.

The Garmin Street Pilot III Deluxe is an integrated standalone Street Routing solution for the car.  It comes supplied with full maps with City Navigator allowing you to download these to the supplied 128mb Storage Card.

The Street Pilot III Deluxe is certainly an affordable system when you compare it to the dedicated in-car systems that cannot be removed and placed in another car.

Sometimes it's hard to determine what Handheld GPS Receivers have what features.  They all look alike and have very similar features, the only thing sometimes to tie them apart is one or two features.

With this in mind we've pulled together a huge comparison of GPS Receivers showing the full specifications of each receiver making it easy to tell which receiver has which features in a single resource.

One important aspect of all GPS Hardware is the Time To First Fix or TTFF. When using GPS Software it all hinges on how good the TTFF is and also how good the re-acquisition is of the GPS Receiver. Many GPS Receivers share the same chipsets from the same manufacturers, but some GPS Hardware are better in acquiring TTFF's.

We have created a TTFF table where all GPS Hardware we review is listed within this table. This helps understand which hardware is good and which hardware should be avoided.
